Juna (JOO-nah)
Juna are deciduous trees that grow to about seven feet. Clusters of sickle-shaped pale-green leaves arrive in mid-spring and unfurl before the narrow, silver-white, tulip-shaped flowers (though the buds are visible first). They have gray-green, peeling bark that smells acrid/peppery when crushed and is used in antiseptics.
