Maxima Pattern Mark IVa Heavy Bolter
Heavy Bolters are a heavy machine gun-eske version of the infantry bolter. They are normally much too heavy to be operated and fired by a Terran sized species individually without power armour or mech suit and must therefore be placed in entrenched crew-served positions or mounted on vehicles. The ammunition of the heavy bolter is an upscaled version of the standard bolt round, being approximately 50% bigger, bringing it more in line with an artillery shell than a bullet.
