5178 - The Exodus Era
This game is set in a region near the unknowns of space, where only a few major factions have set up, as well as corporations, mercenaries, pirates, etc. This is The Fringe, the edge of explored space. No one knows what might be discovered. Some incredibly advanced technology has been found here as well as some interesting prototypes and schematics for a variety of things. The major factions that have set up here are....
The Turkolov Empire - An extremely xenophobic empire which worships an Empress, they have by far the most advanced robotics. (Human). They have a Super Soldier program called the Prophets which are essentially "Angelic" Beings who are able to convert settlements, etc to their cause. They're some of the strongest human Psions in the galaxy.
The Imperial Federation - The most neutral human faction. They accept Xenos but don't wholly accept them. Instead they implement some xenotech into their technology advancements. They are reknowned for their super soldier program known as APEX where they are advanced recon, space combat, and mobile-combat experts
The United Socialist Systems - By far the wealthiest and most xeno-accepting Human country. They use xenotech as much as they use human tech and are known for their vast mercenary army. Their standard soldiers, however small in amount, are by far the most advanced and dangerous. Especially their Super Soldier Program, called "Sparrows" an all-female group of spies and assassins who are uniquely equipped with bows and blades to preform their tasks
The Aluma'rah Empire - The Elf Empire's reach is vast and has no real borders. They have settled upon many planets here in the Fringe. By far some of the most technology-advanced factions in the Fringe utilizing plasma and their new gamma-radiation based technology to recover lost artifacts of their empire
The Conclave of Belegost - Despite only being in control of a single planet, the Rakitarii Conclave is by far one of the most influential factions in the sector. Their warriors are unparalleled in hand-to-hand combat and some of their beastmasters rival that even of the Aluma'rah Blackworlds. Their planet is known for being harsh and unforgiving, just as much as their willingness to uphold and dish out death for their God at the core of their world.
The Black Fleet - A newly encountered faction only the Fringe. The Shadow Soldier Black Fleet is a coalition of xenos who have all been bred to accept cybernetics and genetics much better than most other races making them by far the most advanced cybernetic and genetic militarized organizations in the Fringe, and arguably the known galaxy as they grow their soldiers and 'citizens' in Vats and modify them to achieve the purpose they were bred for.
