The Glass Forest

Approximately one hundred acres of perfectly formed deciduous trees made of an extremely tough crystalline material. They do not grow or change, and are nearly impervious to damage. The leaves are as thin as leaves on real trees, and are thus extremely sharp.
Every twelve hours, the glass forrest hums with an otherworldly sound that causes serious harm to anyone caught inside its bounds. However, it does let off a soft, otherworldly glow at all times, so there is a small community of people who live around its edge to take advantage of the light.
