Zamars

Zamars are short in stature, usually between three and four feet tall. They have bumpy skin and look like goblins or gargoyles. Zamar skin tones vary like Metisians except they do not have patterns or extra features like frills or stripes. If a Zamar were born with these extraneous features, they would have been physically removed by the Zamar parents. Zamars have horn arrangements that can vary from five small horns, three medium horns, or two larger horns. These horns can also manifest as tusks. Zamars are the most intelligent creatures on Zamaris, but they are also the smallest predator. Zamars must be cautious about the numerous larger beasts that inhabit Zamaris and hunt Zamars for food. Zamars have a strong work ethic that demands that every Zamar doe their duty in their assigned profession. Zamars work based on their skills (in line with their skin color) and also what village they live in. For example, Zamars that live in the woods are foresters, but they have Zamars who farm and do other jobs as well. Zamars rely heavily on the color of their skin to hide from larger predators. Entire Zamar villages are composed of those with similar skin colors, although many of the Zamars come from different villages. Zamars are highly adaptable, so even if Zamars of one village come from different families from different villages, they adapt quickly to their surroundings, gaining the proper physical attributes needed to survive. Zamars reproduce as is needed for the general population. Zamar mates, once an egg is produced, give the egg to a collective incubator. Once the egg is ready, and the child hatches, the Zamars sort the children by color and send them to the respective village/terrain to be raised by a chosen mated pair. Due to the heavy influence of magic on largely Inert creatures, Zamar skin colors vary greatly and they are not determined by the skin colors of the parents. Zamar Muses were once shunned and hidden away, though some villages go so far as to kill them, Since Kumari’s interference, Zamar Muses are now assigned as “monster tamers and hunters” and work to protect their fellow Zamars from the numerous predators they encounter.
