Murk City

Murk City’s initial purpose was to be used as a cage to lock away demons. It was created by the Legion of Order and used to seal Gareth away once his demon began to take over. At Eaglefeather’s urging, the Legion made Murk City a habitable world where Gareth could survive. This was the design of the first demon master, Gareth, and the demon of Cackle. However, over the years, Murk City became a prison to dangerous and unstable criminals. In order to make it sustainable, the Legion of Order, at the urging of the realm leaders, created a terrain in which denizens could survive off of. Soon, Murk City became a dumping ground for anyone who needed to be removed or was seen as unwanted or unnecessary (political dissidents, petty criminals, disabled and deformed citizens, etc.) Murk City was soon developed as the population increased faster than the realm could expand, resulting in an urban tenement style form of living. As Gareth and later his demon using Gareth’s soul were thr firt citizens of Murk City, they had tremedous influence over the development of city enviroment once it began to be inhabited. Gareth had been a very relgious man while he lived on Gaia and thus aspects of Gain relgious beliefs seeped into the consocuiness of th demons contorlling Gareth. Most notable are the stories and beliefs revolving around the Seven Deadly Sins and the ten Plagues of Egypt from the Judeo-Christian. Murk City is divided into districts, each based on the seven deadly sins. There is also a central district, known simply as the Police or Liberated District.
