Gareth's War

Gareth was the first Gaian to become a Muse and interact with the different realms. While he was on Metisiot, he seemed like an avid student interested in the development of Muse and the history of the Realms. He spent many hours in the library and even helped provide some insight into the world of Gaia though his world was narrow. Eagle Feather and Silent enjoyed his company and appreciated his seemingly understanding of Order and Chaos and the two sides of magical development. However, Micah was also involved with Gareth at the time and was interested in harnessing the inherent Chaos that was apparent in humans. He and Gareth struck up a friendship and began studying different aspects of Choas. At first, Silent and Eagle feather were concerned but Gareth and Micah assured them this research was necessary to truly understand the two sides of magic. Their research continued and to the surprise of Eagle Feather, a rift developed between Gareth and Micah until Micah left in disgust. Slowly, Gareth studies on his own until one day, he appeared before Eagle Feather with a small black bear cub at his side. Gareth proclaimed that he had harnessed the power of chaos and could bend it to his will. He demonstrated the incredible control he had over the bear cub and its invincibility to all forms of magic attack and manipulation. Eagle Feather was impressed but Silent expressed her concern over the creature. Quickly, the power of the bear cub grew, causing it to grow more powerful – growing from a bear cub to a small bear to a large bear to a towering creature with broad shoulders and boney appendages. Gareth used the bear in his exploits and battles, proving to be an almost unstoppable adversary. However, along with the bear came intense mood changes in Gareth, he became more hostile towards other races and soo he ignited a war between the realms: Swifs against Zamars and Muses against non-Muses. The war raged until the Legion was able to restrain Gareth and lock him away. None know what caused the sudden change in Gareth’s demeanor, not until Kumari experienced the same thing but lived to tell about it.
