Frog Beneath the Streets

Beneath the streets of Murk City lies a tangled network of sewers, tunnels, and pathways. It is unknown who created these sewers but they have spread across the entire city and can be used by the most knowledgeable of denizens to travel unnoticed throughout Murk City. However, rumors abound of a mysterious figure who hunts in the sewers and is known to track down the unaware wanderer, though it has a particular taste for Zamars. Few who have seen it have survived and those who have only saw a hulking figure coming towards them before they fled. Of the stories and rumors, a theme emerged: some sort of great frog or toad like creature larger even than the biggest Wildling. It has limbs long enough to reach you from fifty yards away, a stare that can paralyze, and fangs the size of swords. Well, supposedly anyway. Another rumor is that it is unwise to leave children unattended after dark and near entrances to the sewers. They have been known to vanish, though there never seems to be any blood or bodies found. It's almost like the children vanish into thin air and are never heard from again. Some denizens have even claimed that it has possessed the children and made them its servants - using them to lure food and passerbys, or to run errand for it in the above world. Many discount these rumors and simply believe people are hallucinating in the dark. They say that children are sometimes taken and never seen again. People are killed in the sewers by others and Zamars are prickly so they get targeted more. Skeptics and believers alike cannot agree on what rumors are true and which are reliable. The only person who supposedly encountered the creature was Kumari and Otano but even they refused to speak of it.
