Wushi

Wushi are Xianese magic-users that follow the arcane tradition of Wujiao and learn how to manipulate both the natural and spirit world through the Ar. Wushi study under masters of the art who live far away from society to spend their time in deep meditation to practice spiritual cultivation.

Elemental Mastery

Like mages, wushi understand the Ar through arcane paths, however a wushi's familiarity with the Seven Elements (Xianese: zhit hang) of Metal, Fire, Water, Wood, Earth, Bright, and Shadow, allow him or her to master elemental paths. When a wushi has learned all of the spells of a particular element up to the highest level of spell he or she can cast, the wushi has 'mastered' that element. Mastery gives the wushi a +1 bonus to damage and a -1 for opponents' saves on all spells of the mastered element. Likewise, the wushi recieves a +1 bonus on saving throws against spells of that element.

Internal Powers

  • Level 1: "Swiftness of the Hare" - Once per day, can apply +3 to initative roll for 1 round.
  • Level 4: "Power of the Dragon" - Once per day, can cast one spell that is 3 or more levels below class level at maximum range, duration, and effect

Taboos

Starting at 1st level, a wushi must select a taboo to follow. Following the taboo should be roleplayed by the player to the best of the character's ability. If a wushi violates a taboo, he or she cannot cast spells for the remainder of the day. The wushi must select an additional taboo every 5th level (6, 11, etc.)
