The Armoursmiths

The Armoursmiths, a renowned family business, are highly respected for their high-level craftsmanship in creating unique protection gear. The operation is run by four sisters: two Creation Weavers and two Alternation Weavers. They are known for their neutrality and offer their services to anyone who can afford them, maintaining a strict policy against making weapons.

The Armoursmiths operate as a family business. Each sister contributes her skills equally, ensuring that collaboration is semi-smooth but the quality output is high. Decisions are made collectively but if a tie comes up, it is Mira breaking it.

They are revered atop Fortrop for their expertise. Their workshop, known as the Smithery, is always open for customers; it's a place for innovation, as some would call it. Despite the competitive nature of their business, they maintain a reputation for fairness and neutrality, never aligning with any faction or political entity.

Beyond maintaining and growing their family business, the sisters aim to push the boundaries of protective gear through continuous innovation. They strive to uphold their family's legacy and ensure their craft remains unparalleled in quality and effectiveness.

History

The Smithery has been in the family for generations, passed down from their great-great-great-grandfather, a master armoursmith who originally founded the business. When their parents passed away, the four sisters inherited the Smithery and decided to combine their unique Weaving abilities to elevate their craft. Their commitment to quality and their principled stance on neutrality have solidified their reputation, making them not only highly respected but also essential, in a sense.

The Sisters

Mira Saera is a Creation Weaver; creative, resourceful and adept at integrating new materials. She's the one who designs and customises the protective gear, incorporating clients' specific needs into the blueprints.

Elara Saera is, also, a Creation Weaver; she's meticulou, innovative and deeply focused on the finer details of crafting. She specialises in creating the core structures of their protective gear, ensuring durability and strength. She's the backbones of all of their creations, essentially.

Talia Saera, an Alternation Weaver, is distractable but precised and highly skilled in tweaking the existing gear. She refines and enhances the orders Weaved by her sisters, adding finer details and making sure they're up to their standards (and their name's standards.)

Nadia Saera, the last sister and an Alternation Weaver, is adaptable, efficient and the last to look over projects before they're shipped out. She also the one doing all the repairs and upgrades to the existing gear, ensuring they remain in peak condition.

Materials

The Armoursmiths are different in the meaning that, they use materials that other smiths rarely bother with; mostly because they're tedious to work with.

V4 X21

It's a synthetic composite material engineered from a rare combination of alloys and carbon nanotubes. It's highly durable, lightweight, and capable of withstanding extreme temperatures and impacts.

However, each component of V4 X21 (e.g., alloy plates, carbon nanotube meshes) must be created separately and then meticulously assembled. And Alternating it requires precise atomic-level manipulation to enhance durability and heat resistance without compromising the material’s structure.

Aet 2

Is a bioengineered material derived from a rare extraterrestrial fungus combined with synthetic polymers. Offers exceptional flexibility and regenerative properties, capable of self-repairing minor damages (though the organic components are pre-synthesized and not directly created by Weavers).

Synthetic polymer components are created individually. The bioengineered fungus must be grown separately and then integrated.

Mervir Crystal

A crystalline structure grown in zero-gravity conditions, known for its unparalleled hardness and refractive qualities. It's virtually indestructible and capable of reflecting and refracting energy, providing both physical and energy-based protection.

Individual crystal segments are grown and then carefully assembled. The biggest downside to working with Mervir Crystals is that they take years to grow and collect in viable conditions to make anything out of them.
