The Six Cosmic Forces

A Treatise by the Arcane Citadel

A Study of the Fundamental Powers That Shape Existence

Introduction: The War of the Six

For centuries, sages, scholars, and theologians have debated the nature of the cosmos. While countless myths exist to explain its origin, one undeniable truth has emerged: reality is shaped by six fundamental forces, each in eternal conflict with the others.

Unlike mortal kingdoms that rise and fall, these forces are neither allies nor enemies bound by fleeting circumstance. They are living, warring entities, locked in an unending struggle for dominion over existence itself. Gods, demons, mortals—all are but pieces upon this cosmic battlefield, wielded as weapons or crushed beneath the weight of their masters’ ambition.

Though our knowledge is incomplete, the sages of the Arcane Citadel have assembled this treatise to illuminate what little can be understood. It is not absolute truth—only the First Light may know that—but it is the closest mortal minds can come to comprehending the shape of the divine war.

The Six Cosmic Forces & Their Domains

The cosmos is divided into six primary domains, each ruled by a distinct force. These forces—neither wholly good nor wholly evil—exist in opposition, shaping the fate of all things through their ceaseless conflict.

  • The Aether (Domain of Light) – Domain of the Naaru and the Archangels, celestial beings who claim to embody divine order and righteousness.
  • The Nether (Domain of Shadow) – Home of the Old Gods, the Archdevils, and the Demon Lords, forces of corruption, tyranny, and destruction.
  • The Matron’s Weave (Domain of Order) – The structured realm of arcane power, created by the Matron and maintained by the Titans, opposing divine rule.
  • Oblivion (Domain of Disorder) – A force of absolute chaos, seeking to unravel all things through its servants, the Burning Legion.
  • The World Tree (Domain of Life) – A realm of natural divinity, ruled by the Wild Gods, governing the cycle of creation and evolution.
  • Death (Domain of Death) – The dominion of Lucifer, ruler of the dead and shepherd of souls, the only one entrusted with the final fate of all things.

Each of these forces wages war upon the others, seeking dominance over reality itself.

Conclusion: The Eternal War and the Burden of Choice

The cosmos does not exist in harmony, nor does it move toward an inevitable resolution. It is a battleground where six fundamental forces—each wielding unfathomable power—clash endlessly in a struggle without victors. Order and chaos, creation and destruction, light and darkness—these are not mere philosophies, but living entities, ancient and unyielding in their purpose.

No domain is wholly righteous, nor entirely corrupt. The Aether, though radiant, enforces its will with an iron hand, strangling free will in the name of purity. The Nether festers with corruption, yet grants those who embrace it the power to shape their fate beyond divine decree. The Matron’s Weave offers structure and stability, but its rigid nature leaves little room for change. Oblivion seeks nothingness, yet it is the ultimate truth that all things must end. The World Tree nourishes and sustains, yet its unchecked growth would consume all in an unrelenting cycle. And Death, ever watchful, ensures balance—yet even it is not immune to those who would twist its purpose for their own ends.

The war of the Six is eternal. Its battles shape the fates of gods and mortals alike, and its tides shift with every choice made across existence. Some will seek to serve, to align themselves with the forces they believe just. Others will rebel, rejecting cosmic order to forge their own destinies. And some will remain caught in the middle, neither rulers nor rebels, but witnesses to an unending conflict that cares nothing for their fleeting lives.

The only question that remains is not who will win, for victory is an illusion. The question is: where will you stand? Will you embrace the light or revel in the shadows? Will you seek balance, or will you let entropy take its course? Will you uphold the cycle of death, or break it entirely?

The forces of the cosmos will not wait for you to decide. The war rages on. And in the end, all must choose.
