Bastion System
Congratulations, Adventurers! Welcome to the Guild Bastion Program!
As you reach the prestigious rank of Level 5, the Adventurers’ Guild is proud to reward your dedication, bravery, and contributions to the safety and prosperity of The Forsaken Realm. You have earned the right to establish a Bastion, a stronghold that will serve as your personal base of operations, a place to store your treasures, plan your next adventures, and even train new adventurers. Here is a guide to help you understand what Bastions entail, how Bastion Turns work, and the support the Guild will provide to help you set up your new base. What is a Bastion?
A Bastion is your own fortified base or estate. It could be anything from a seaside fortress, a forest hall, or a tower in the desert sands, depending on your location and preferences. Your Bastion isn’t just a physical building but an extension of your influence and reputation within The Forsaken Realm. You can build it up, hire staff, expand facilities, and turn it into a place that reflects your adventuring party’s unique character.Functions of a Bastion:
- Safe Resting Place: A secure location to recover between adventures.
- Storage: A place to store your wealth, magical items, relics, and gear.
- Research and Crafting: You can set up facilities to craft items, brew potions, and even research spells or alchemical concoctions.
- Training Grounds: As you grow, you’ll be able to train followers and even start building a loyal guard or workforce.
- Networking Hub: Your Bastion can become a place where merchants, other adventurers, and allies visit to trade, seek aid, or offer quests.
How Bastion Turns Work
Every Bastion Turn represents a period of one week in-game time, during which you can take specific actions to develop and improve your Bastion. Each Bastion Turn, you may:- Construct Facilities: Build or upgrade sections of your Bastion, such as a library, armory, forge, or garden. Some facilities may unlock new abilities or grant bonuses, such as faster potion crafting, enhanced training, or unique research options.
- Hire Staff and Specialists: You may choose to hire specialized NPCs like an alchemist, blacksmith, mage, or guard captain. These individuals not only enhance your Bastion’s effectiveness but can assist with specialized projects.
- Resource Collection and Trade: During a Bastion Turn, your team can focus on gathering resources, such as hunting for rare herbs, mining, or trading with nearby settlements. The amount of resources collected each turn can be affected by hired staff, such as foresters, traders, or miners.
- Defend and Patrol: If your Bastion is under threat or located in a dangerous area, part of your Bastion Turn might involve fortifying defenses or patrolling the surrounding lands to keep monsters and raiders at bay.
- Personal Projects: Each player can also engage in personal pursuits at the Bastion during a turn. For example, researching a spell, crafting a weapon, studying a magical relic, or training an animal companion.
Guild Support and Initial Grants
As new Bastion owners, you’ll receive generous support from the Adventurers’ Guild to help set up your base. This assistance includes initial grants of resources, building materials, and funds to hire basic staff.Initial Construction Grant:
You’ll receive a one-time Gold Grant from the Guild, equivalent to 500 gold pieces per party member. This funding is intended to help you start the basic structures of your Bastion, such as a main hall, a storage facility, and rudimentary defenses. Building Materials: The Guild provides a set of construction materials for your first few builds, including timber, stone, and metal. This will cover the costs of up to three basic facilities, such as a Courtyard, Bedroom, or storage room; as well as two special facilities such as a Smithy or Arcane Study. Hiring Fund: A fund of 200 gold pieces is set aside specifically for hiring. You may use this to recruit essential staff such as a caretaker, guards, or a cook. For more specialized staff, you’ll need to earn additional resources or hire independently. Guild Staff Specialists: Once per month, you may request a specialist from the Guild’s network to help with a unique task at your Bastion. This could be an engineer to help fortify defenses, a herbalist for potion brewing, or a weaponsmith to craft special arms. Specialists come at a discounted rate due to Guild sponsorship.Bastion Tax and Resource Contributions
In exchange for the Guild’s assistance, you’ll agree to a Resource Tax for the first six months (or six Bastion Turns) after your Bastion is established. This means that a portion of any resources you collect, such as mined metals, crafted items, or harvested herbs, must be contributed back to the Guild as a form of repayment. Resource Tax: 20% of all resources or income generated by the Bastion (rounded up to the nearest whole unit). Monthly Collection: Guild representatives will visit once per month (or at the end of every four Bastion Turns) to collect the tax. They’ll also check in on your progress and offer additional guidance if needed.Adventurers’ Guild Job Board:
