Bix never had a blood family. The only thing supposedly left behind of her "parents" was the necklace she still wears. What she did have was another group of children left to fend for themselves in what paraded as an orphanage, but instead did a lot worse deeds. The girl learned how to lie, cheat, steal, and do what she needed to survive. When you are small and scrawny, you can fit into a lot of spots the adults can't catch you. As she grew older, her skills grew, and she was the one people came to for various tasks. Whether it was for information, to gain something back, or to retrieve a particular item, Bix was the one the people came to. And while the Tiefling ran into many things, what she never expected in this life was to run into a young noble elf girl in the streets one day.
There was a bit of resentment, she had to admit. After all, one of them coming out like that when they were suffering out here. Was it to mock? However, as Bix watched her from the shadows, she could see the girl was in some sort of trouble. As others in the street started to step in to prey upon the girl, Bix stepped out to help her. After all, it was something she had done often, helping other orphans on the street, and she couldn't exactly let the girl get taken advantage of. After hearing of her story, Bix felt the urge that she needed to protect this girl, Vera, from the streets she knew all too well, and the two have been friends traveling together for about the last year. Within the last six months or so, the two had ran into yet another traveler along the way, now making the duo a trio.
