The Old Rhigolian city of Westhedge was changed to the city of Westhenge after the Crown War. In the ancient days of the Godswar, it was called Arahasis, the paradise of the gardens and was protected in the north by what is now called Castellan Keep.   The Keep is a microcosm, a world in miniature. Within its walls, one will find what is basically a small village. Located atop a sheer-wailed mount of stone looms the great winding road leading to the sturdy walls and main gate. The blue-clad men-at-arms who guard the entrance and along the wall are eager to welcome new champions of Law but ready with crossbow and polearm to give another sort of welcome to enemies. The whole place is well-organized for security and for defense. In times of need, many civilians will arm and help man the walls, while non-combatants bring ammunition, food, and water to the walls and help the wounded. Sentries are alert and guards patrol the walls irregularly making it very unlikely that anyone can enter or leave without being seen.   Commander Puzur-Ashur is a very clever fellow, but stories tell that at times he can be too hasty in his decisions. Bards sing of his bravery and his honesty is absolute. If a guest asks him any question, he will do his best to answer, providing that it does not compromise the security of the keep.   The Curate Chapel is overseen by the faithful of Anulil and clergy offer blessings to any adventurers who declare they are heading to the Caves of Chaos, a thicket covered ravine-like area north of the keep. The ravine walls rise rather steeply to either side to a height of about 100’ or so made of dark, streaked rock mingled with earth. Clumps of trees grow here and there, both on the floor of the ravine and up the sloping walls of the canyon. The ravine runs several hundred feet to where the western end rises in a steep slope. Here and there, at varying heights on all sides of the ravine can be seen the black mouths of cave-like openings in the rock walls. Westhenge is an old city and remains the nearest and most active trading partner to the keep. Situated at the main population center south of the Fortresses of the Line during the end times of the Godswar where the forces loyal to Anullil's Law held off the massive assault from Tiamatsu's forces of Chaos spewing forth from the Dragon's Well located someplace around Silverpass, the Hellmouths and the Hellgates in what is now Ethigoviel. Now, the city has forgotten much of what it once was or what life was like when the gods themselves walked its streets. Located where the headwaters of the Dawn and Westpeak Mountain rivers converge into the Rhestin River, the natural beauty and arboreal abundance have fueled its riches of timber and mineral resources since its founding, long before the birth of the mortal races.   Modern Westhenge still attracts those looking to build a better life through effort and hard work, foresters, miners, merchants, and mercenaries, along with the many guild masters wishing to take advantage of such an abundance and The Keep, it's one-time northern protector is no different.   The ruins of The Fortresses of The Line have been re-purposed recently by the Platinum Dragon Knights as watchtowers scanning into the lands of their former adversaries from Rhigolia in the distance. Just beyond the sharp eyes of The Fortresses of The Line can be found Castellan Keep, itself rebuilt on the ancient site of Versaliis, where the forces of Law and Chaos met to discuss peace before it was destroyed by treachery at the end of the Godswar.   It was at Castellan Keep where peace was signed into an agreement between the two competing dynasties of the First Ancient Noble House Kinn. This Keep on the Borderlands is where Drokoth and Kallakoth royal descendants in the recent Crown War set the terms for peace and reunification. This peace accord created The Borderlands of Rhigolia, shifting its borders to that just north of the keep between the Dawn Mountains and Rhestin Lake.   Acting as neutral ground between the newly created Commonwealth of Andril and those of old Rhigolia, this Keep on the Borderlands is the closest civilized outpost near Westhenge in the borderlands and the two locations owe much of their current existence and continuing prosperity to the other. Two ancient sister settlements now divided by the borderline separating the north from the south.
