Orc Warband

As you drive ever closer to the capital city of Alran Aethel, you begin to walk through a part of the plains that are marked with many effigies and hanging signs written in red paint, the writing upon it is scratchy and jagged making it very hard to decipher what it says, but from the way it is presented it does not seem friendly. As you progress further you see more and more foreboding signs, decaying bodies hanging from trees with arrows protruding from them like massive pincushions and more effigies depicting forms of torture and execution. As you travel through a patch of the trail that winds between two tall hills a DC 13 perception check will reveal a group of three figures watching your movements through the pass, after you spot them, they will disappear below the horizon line of the hill, afterward you will be blocked by a large, barricaded checkpoint manned by a number of green and grey skinned creatures. They stand roughly 7-8 feet tall with massive builds, slumped shoulders and lumbering, powerful arms that hang down to their knees and a set of large tusks that protrude from their lower jaw.
A grey skinned orc will stand at the front of the barricade, he will halt the party's passage by calling out to them in orc and then again in common. He will say "You have entered deep into the lands of the Rib Shield Tribe. We have no memory of your passage before, and you stink of elf so you must pay the passage tribute or turn back to where you came from". If the party protests or asks what the tribute is then they will be closed in on by several orcs inculding the one who spoke. The orc who spoke will tell the party to drop their weapons and coin pouches and then they will be allowed to traverse through their territory. If they refuse or impude the honor of the orcs then they will be subdued and brought before the chief of tribe to face judgement.
