The luxurious

The luxurious, as they're often called, is a group of people who see the strict resource management of the city as something to be frowned upon. After all, if everyone is going to fall anyway, you might as well live life to its fullest today, right? Even if the last pieces of the city might not fall within their lifetimes, the inevitability of death still inspires them to go out of their way to waste resources. It's often easy to spot someone who's of this mindset, as they like to dress the part. Using expensive and rare fabrics, and lots of it. While others might have a favorite necklace or a ring, one of the luxurious is likely to have several sets of jewelry, some of which they're not even going to ever use. Where the spending really shows, however, is food. Often putting up giant feasts for themselves and their close ones, who are often part of the luxurious themselves. The city heavily frowns upon this mindset and is doing its best to make the lifestyle impossible. It isn't easy, however, as many of the luxurious surround themselves with people of a similar mindset who won't willingly give away their friends, and while it's easy to guess who's a part of the luxurious from appearance, it isn't enough to go off of for the city guard to arrest them. If you are caught though, you're faced with charges of wasting resources that come with heavy fines. If you're unable to pay those fines, you're likely to put in jail instead. It is also heavily frowned upon by other citizens of the city, as it benefits only the luxurious themself and takes resources from others trying to survive and create the best future they can for their children and further descendants.
