The fever headstand

When wanting to cure a fever, one well known but questionably efficient way is to do a headstand. This fact has been passed down for generations, and no one really knows where it originated from. Doing a headstand supposedly lets your blood flood to your brain and take the heat with it once you stand upright again, removing it from your forehead where a fever is most easily felt. Scientists are very doubtful this weird piece of advice actually holds any truth, and it is scientifically proven that doing strenuous activities when you're sick is a bad idea, but that hasn't stopped the advice from being passed down and people believing it works. There have been incidents reported when old people have tried it and fallen down, breaking a bone or two in the process. It is also highly discouraged if you're sick to the point of feeling weak, as similar accidents can happen for young people too. And a broken bone is usually much worse than just letting the fever die down by itself. Those who have tried it when they've had a slight fever, however, have reported feeling better afterward and claim that their fever went away quicker than if they don't do it. Scientists are unsure if this is a placebo effect, or if the actual headstand contributed to the results. It is also very hard to measure when a fever would've gone away if you didn't do the headstand, making those claims fairly hollow. The ones who've reported it helping have only had slight fevers after all so it's likely they would've gone away on their own too. Whichever it might be, most agree that if you do it safely, it doesn't make anything worse and that's enough for people to keep doing it, and placebo or not, it makes people feel better. When they don't fall and break a bone or two that is.
