Empire of Gaira
Gaira once ruled the entire galaxy, but not anymore. After their fall in the year 0 nothing of their power structure remain, being substituted by countless independent planets and dozens of small claimants with no real legitimacy to their claims. Despite their fall, their cultural legacy and their legend remain, as well as a great part of their technology, which remains in use (Except several parts that were secrets of the government).
Gaira history can be divided into several eras:
In this era, Gaira explored the galaxy for remnants of old civilizations, and also for what they called the key to life. At year 979 BF Formicida were born and, at 926 BF Androids were born and Bots came just a few years later.
This period of peace was interrupted by a power that not only rivaled them but surpassed them, the Uoirn or Beyonders. This civilization was not from the Milky Way but from a very far galaxy. They came through portals and took the combined might of both empires to drive them away.
The end of this era in the year 259 BF saw thousand of abusive laws abolished, hunger disappeared and equality of rights was a reality within the empire. On the other hand, while some of the vassal states were quick to imitate the example or even some of them accomplished that even at the beginning of the era of the two galaxies, this was not the reality in several other vassal states where they continued several abusive practices on their own.
On the other hand, in the year 39 BF, the internal tensions exploded again: while a lot of the situation improved since the age of the two galaxies there was a lot of work to do, especially in the former vassals of Sol. Also, the government didn't accomplish the goal of becoming truly democratic instead was becoming corrupt and oligarchic. The truth was become evident: while Gaira tried to change a lot of bad traits of the imperial eras still remained within the structure.
Until, at year 0, everything went silent.

The age of turmoil
Gaira was born in 2257 Before the Fall, before that, they were the remnants of a lost colony of the Sol Empire. After decades of war between factions, Flavia Octavia, seized control of the planet and rose as the empress of Gaira. Very little is known about this era because the wars erased a lot of records and probably a lot of information was censored by gairan authorities of the next centuries.The era of the exploration
This era started when Flavia Octavia started a journey to the stars. With the principles of glory and science, she oversaw the exploration of the vicinity of their star and started the building of the first star bases. During this era, the first contact with new civilizations began, and with this a golden age of collaboration and advancement. This age ends in the year 1891 BF.The age of war
When more and more civilizations started coming into contact with the flowering empire the first tensions started to arise. Several came to Gaira's door to become their vassals in hopes of getting protection while others entered into war with the empire. The first ones were treated with generosity but Gaira was infamously brutal with their enemies. This era is also known as the age of atrocities given the huge account of war crimes committed and the unfair treatment of conquered populations. In the year 1479 BF, Gaira found the Empire of Sol, their homeland. The relationship between them was very tense from the beginning because, between conquest and vassals, both empires controlled very extensive parts of the galaxy: they were rivals. Despite their dislike, they avoided direct conflict but the oldest empires like the Dru'shenvak saw those two newcomers as a legit threat and thus they decided to destroy them. When those old empires fell no power in the galaxy was able to rival Gaira or Sol. In the year 626 BF there was a huge change in Gaira. A lot of critical voices arose from within the empire: while they were hailed as saviors of the galaxy they felt that the empire fell very short of living up to that dignity. Within their borders, there were countless oppressed populations, poverty, and social injustice... problems easy to solve for a such mighty empire but problems that the elites just had chosen to ignore. The empress Ulpia Augusta finally admitted in shame that the protests against her were right. Since then a lot of changes were made within the empire, starting with the policy that they called "Poverty Zero". In the year 508 BF the imperial system itself was abolished and an elected council was placed instead.The end of this era in the year 259 BF saw thousand of abusive laws abolished, hunger disappeared and equality of rights was a reality within the empire. The age of unity
Finally, the tension between the hegemonic empires exploded and the fate of the galaxy was sealed at the 181 BF with the victory of Gaira.
