Living a double life, Shadows move amongst the political courts and underworlds of the bastions, ensuring the survival of their patrons and the implementation of grand plans. The pettiest of these Shadows may seek a guarded artifact or treasure for the edification of a royal, and the grandest of Shadows may seek to unravel the mysteries of the Great War or locate a dead god. In any case, the Shadow has a wide variety of tools to pursue such a goal.   While there are few definite clues as to the origins of the shadows some believe that those with the natural capabilities to be a shadow may be distant relatives of Changelings who survived the Changeling War Interregnum and continued their lives in secret. Others believe that the Shadows and their mysterious secret societies may be Changeling cabals still operating in the darkest recesses of society.   Regardless of what their origins may be, the Shadows working in groups or even working alone prefer to keep their vocations and identities clandestine, living such convincing lies that it can be difficult for a Shadow to even know what about their lives is truth or convenience.   GM's notes: The Shadow can stand on its own in social settings and even has a number of abilities that help keep themselves and the party out of danger.

They are tirelessly in their pursuit of a Nemesis, a chosen target which the Hunter must either apprehend or dispatch. All the Hunter's skills are oriented around achieving this goal, putting those who are between a hunter and his quarry in a position of being considered 'prey'. The Hunter's abilities ultimately push them into risky, offensive moves against their selected opponents. The Hunter lends well to bounty hunters, vigilantes, berserkers, zealots and other uncompromising individuals who are driven to pacify a specific nemesis.
