Redwood kin

Making their home in the deep redwood forests in the west, the beautiful and cunning elves of Redwood live their lives. With an average lifetime spanning hundreds of years they are known for taking their time and honing their skills and their minds to perfection. Their rigorous training and study as well as a rich culture have earned the elves a reputation of being wise, to the point of all knowing. This is reflected in the way other people regard them and reimburse them for their services. It is not uncommon for Redwood elves to be offered sometimes almost double the payment as other mercenaries, advisors, scouts or craftsmen. The elves native to the forest live in close harmony with their environment. Taking what they need and leaving enough behind for nature to uphold the balance. The biggest taboo in elven culture is being wasteful and things they make are made to last.   Their culture focuses around the three parts of the tree. In the treetops you find the bravest and most agile of the elves. The scouts, the archers and the travelers. On the ground by the roots you find the pathfinders, the cunning rangers and the hunters, gathering food and materials for the settlements. In the heart of the glades, the stem of the tree that holds the elven culture together are the druids. The leaders and the tree whisperers that mend the forests and uphold the balance of nature.   Redwood elves often have slim bodies and faces, sharp facial features and pointed ears. On their heads there is often long flowing hair in the colors of autumn leaves. Their long arms and legs make them excellent climbers. Their fashion is different from settlement to settlement but often their clothes are made from durable and fine woven fabrics, embellished by beautiful things found in nature. They often carry with them a piece of wood from their hometree, often carved or crafted into something useful.
