Primal Savagery Spell in The Extended Perkinsverse | World Anvil

Primal Savagery

Depending on that Druidic Circle you're a part of or what exact tactics you employ in combat this spell is a decent attack cantrip for Druids unafraid of getting up close and personal with a target. This spell uses your spell attack modifier for melee combat which is a solid option for Druids focused on buffs to throw some damage, and for late game druids to have a solid spellcasting option in their Wild Shape. Druids should ideally be in ranged support roles or using their Wildshapes to take up melee tank roles but for a Druid looking for some flexibility in cantrips this is a solid choice.

Effect

You channel primal magic to cause your teeth or fingernails to sharpen, ready to deliver a corrosive attack. Make a melee spell attack against one creature within 5 feet of you. On a hit, the target takes 1d10 acid damage. After you make the attack, your teeth or fingernails return to normal.

At Higher Levels. The spell’s damage increases by 1d10 when you reach 5th level (2d10), 11th level (3d10), and 17th level (4d10).

Side/Secondary Effects

Itching and redness of the skin, sensitive fingernails, bleeding of the gums, eye irritation and trouble swallowing.

Manifestation

The animalistic shift in form can be congruous with a known animal or more generic. The claws your hands sprout might be the claws of an eagle or a bear or simply generically sharp and poisonous claws. Your teeth might become like those of a shark or the fangs of a serpent or even the mandibles of an insect or simply pointed and venomous fangs.
