Minor Illusion Spell in The Extended Perkinsverse | World Anvil

Minor Illusion

I could wax poetic over this spell for pages. Entire treatises could be written on the use and abuse of this spell. I will attempt to be succinct in my accounting of this most excellent of cantrips. This spell does no damage, but is arguably one of the most dangerous. The uses of this spell are limited only to the imagination and ingenuity of the caster. This particular spell is an action and lasts for one minute. The spell Silent Image is a bonus action and can move and change in response to the will of the caster. Using these two spells in conjunction create audio-visual facsimiles of all manner of designs. So long ass these illusions do not come into direct contact with something their ephemeral nature will remain hidden. A creature can attempt a close inspection of an illusion to determine its illusory nature. If one were exceptionally skilled at observation and tiny details then perhaps they could create illusions so realistic that a creature might have a harder time detecting the illusion.

Effect

You create a sound or an image of an object within range that lasts for the duration. The illusion also ends if you dismiss it as an action or cast this spell again.

If you create a sound, its volume can range from a whisper to a scream. It can be your voice, someone else’s voice, a lion’s roar, a beating of drums, or any other sound you choose. The sound continues unabated throughout the duration, or you can make discrete sounds at different times before the spell ends.

If you create an image of an object—such as a chair, muddy footprints, or a small chest—it must be no larger than a 5-foot cube. The image can’t create sound, light, smell, or any other sensory effect. Physical interaction with the image reveals it to be an illusion, because things can pass through it.

If a creature uses its action to examine the sound or image, the creature can determine that it is an illusion with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If a creature discerns the illusion for what it is, the illusion becomes faint to the creature.

Manifestation

All your imagination is possible as long as it fits inside the 5 foot cube.
