Message

Sending silent messages back and forth is useful and this cantrip is top 20 in terms of how useful it can be. However there is very little that can be done to mask the fact that you and your friends are constantly pointing back and forth at each other across a crowded room. Observers might not know what you are saying but it will be obvious there is some form of communication happening. If you are a scout, an infiltrator or spy then this cantrip is your bread and butter for sending messages to an outside helper, contact or informant.

Effect

You point your finger toward a creature within range and whisper a message. The target (and only the target) hears the message and can reply in a whisper that only you can hear.
You can cast this spell through solid objects if you are familiar with the target and know it is beyond the barrier. Magical silence, 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood blocks the spell. The spell doesn’t have to follow a straight line and can travel freely around corners or through openings.

Manifestation

The message itself is typically invisible but could be a wisp of smoke or some kind of visible disturbance in the air.
