The War on Thaczil
The war on Thaczil, Harmony explains to those who ask, began after the original King and Queen of the Dragons were banished by the God Alyss after they had a disagreement over how to interact with the younger races of the galaxy. The Metallic Dragons who sided with the King, traditionally seen as protectors and guides, believed in fostering relationships with these races, offering wisdom and guidance. The Chromatic Dragons, who sided with the Queen, however, saw themselves as superior beings who should rule over the lesser races, demanding tribute and obedience.
As the disagreement grew, so too did the tension between the two factions. Skirmishes broke out, and soon these small conflicts escalated into full-scale war once Alyss intervened and removed the heads of each side, however the power vacuum left behind caused turmoil. Thaczil, once a beacon of power and unity, was divided, and the war has raged ever since, consuming countless lives and resources.
The conflict has plunged Thaczil into chaos, with both factions locked in a brutal struggle for supremacy. The Metallic and Gem Dragons, alongside their Dragonborn and Kobold allies, fight to protect their vision of a peaceful and just world. They seek to preserve Thaczil’s ancient traditions of wisdom and guidance, hoping to one day restore unity among dragonkind.
On the other side, the Chromatic Dragons and their Dragonborn, Kobold, and Lizardfolk allies push for domination and control. They see themselves as the rightful rulers of Thaczil and are determined to crush any opposition. Their vision of the future is one where the strong rule over the weak, and they are willing to use any means necessary to achieve this.
Impact on the Amalgamate
In the last year, however, the conflict has taken a darker turn. Supplies from Thaczil, once abundant, have all but ceased, and orders to the Draconid troops on the front lines have become erratic and infrequent. Without the guidance of their leaders and the necessary resources to maintain their positions, many Draconid commanders have grown desperate. Some, driven by fear and confusion, have begun attacking Amalgamate vessels, seeing them as potential threats or simply as sources of much-needed supplies.
This breakdown in discipline threatens to spill over into a wider conflict, drawing the Amalgamate and other factions into the fray.
Harmony, the ancient Gold Dragon who controls Harmony Station, works tirelessly to prevent this escalation. She sees the war as a tragedy that could consume the entire galaxy if left unchecked. Through her station, she continues to advocate for peace, hoping to one day bring an end to the conflict and restore balance to dragonkind.
