The Demilurge

Father of Free Will and Mankind The Demilurge

The Demilurge's form is fluid, ever changing, and brimming with chaos. However, its most common depiction in historical texts and statues is that of a man with no face, and its lower body, a writhing mass of scaled tentacles, dressed in heavy and elaborate robes with a bright and glowing halo.

Personal history

The Demilurge was the first Divine to be born from the discarded souls and bodies of the thousands of dead Celestials slain during the second age. Its form was equal parts Angelic, Demonic, Hierophant, and Elder thing.   The Demilurge was not nearly as strong as the Divine's to come after it, so it sulked in the shadows of the world, avoiding the raging war the Celestial's constantly fought between themselves, crafting, molding, many new young divines to ensure they would have the strength to one day overthrow the Celestial races. While not technically creating the other Divines, the Demilurge helped them grow stronger, and more sound of body and soul that it was, enabling them to be more than patch work monstrosities.   When the time came for the Celestial/Divine War, the Demilurge avoided combat but was known to the other gods as their leader. It worked from the rear lines, using its knowledge of the Celestial races to better coordinate the Divine armies and laid out plans and strategies for the thousands of conflicts that occurred during the war's history. When the Divine's were pushed to their limits, it was the Demilurge who opened the gate to the Elementals and made alliances with them to fight against their mutual enemy.   Unlike the other Divines, the Demilurge was unable to create life, all it could do was shape and manipulate what already existed. As such, when it created the Human race, they were but puppets until the other Divines took pity on the Demilurge and breathed life into its children out of respect for his actions during the war.
