Here we have the major sapient or intelligent species that make up not only the continent of Hawthorne but the entirety of the world we call Hríon. Know that the sapient species that will be discussed here are only limited to six for now.
Alards, they are the prevalent species you will find around these parts. You would otherwise think them to be your run-of-the-mill humans, however they are a very hardy and diverse people. And while prone to conflict,
their ability to adapt and learn gives them great strides in innovation, and wide spread advancement.
Faeries, these folk are more so based on the Irish and Swedish cultures interpretation of fairies. Immortal beings that live betwixt the corporal and ethereal planes, blessed with great magic and knowledge from the gods, beings with their very nature, well, intertwined with nature!
Lost Ones, split off from their brethren afore the Aíllic Age, they were a group of Fae who disrupted the unity of the Faeries. They rebelled against their brethren, starting a war that lasted for two millennia, and thusly were thusly cast off to the depths of the Frontier never to be heard from again. Or so the Faeries thought.
And then we have the Ashborn, this is my concept of what a half-ling in Hríon would be like. After Aveyna was cast away, forever to illuminate the night's sky. Numerous Fae whom worshiped her broke away from their cousins, going to war. It was they who would flee to the east, and gift magick to the Children of Alnor. Over time they deeply mingled with them becoming something else entirely. While Ashborn do not hold the delicate wings of their ancestors, their most distinctive traits being long delicate horns that appear like branches. They have many animistic traits such as tails, pointed canines, and the like as well.
