Vardal, The Storm-Hewer, ruled the skies from his floating citadel of Tordenheim, a cloud-shrouded fortress that hovered above the seas. Under his command, mortals were enslaved to harness the raw power of lightning, thunder, and wind, forced to capture the storm’s fury to serve his will. Those who defied him were cast from the clouds, plummeting to their deaths below.
After his floating citadel was shattered by mortals, sending it crashing into the ocean’s depths, Vardal is said to lie dormant, stirring the seas with his restless sleep. Sailors whisper of sudden tempests and unnatural storms that hint at his presence below, waiting for the moment to rise once more and reclaim the skies.
