Iskha de la Plume

Once a promising playwright in Y'Matara's upper literary circles, Iskha de la Plume turned to journalism after her most politically charged play (Dust of Empire) was banned from the city. Finding freedom in gossip disguised as art, she created The Golden Ink, now the mostly widely read broadsheet in the Free Cities of Al-Khet.   She has informants across all castes and classes - from courtesans and caravan guards to noble scions and disgruntled archivists.

Personality

Iskha speaks with the confidence of someone who already knows how the story ends - and may have written it herself. Her voice is low and velvet-smooth, each word measured like a lyric composed for impact. She is effortlessly charismatic, weaving charm and criticism into the same sentence with disarming elegance. In conversation, she listens more than she speaks, but when she does interject, it is often with a line so clever or cutting it takes a moment to realise one has been flayed. To allies, she is fiercely loyal in her own quiet way; to enemies, she is a patient predator with a long memory. Above all, Iskha values truth—especially the kind no one wants spoken aloud.
