Cleansing Rapture
Transmission & Vectors
Initial transmission was aerosolized viral load, but once the virus enters the body it moves into a bodily fluid (blood/saliva) contact transmission. Infection takes an average of 2 weeks to become contagious then remains so until the body is destroyed
Causes
The Cleansing Rapture is an engineered virus created for the sole purpose of destroying the world. Aerosolized viral bombs were detonated in all major US cities.
Symptoms
Total symptom list (from initial infection to recovery)
Fever
Coughing
Fatigue
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Lack of appetite
Increasing irritability/agitation
Loss of impulse control
Lack of emotional regulation
Treatment
No treatment available as virus is based primarily on the rabies virus
Prognosis
Month one: no symptoms. Those present for the bombs were treated only for the wounds resulting from the intial explosions
Month two: flu symptoms. Fever, cough, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite
Month three: flu symptoms subside. Appetite begins to return, but behavior slowly changes.
Month four: behavior continues changing. Sick become increasingly more irritable/agitated with less impulse control
Month five: rabies aggression begins to manifest. No impulse/emotional regulations remain.
Months six-twelve: rabies takes full hold (same behavior changes, but no fatality).
Months thirteen to twenty-four: sick begin to slowly regain some emotional/impulse regulation. Recovery depends heavily on genetics, other pre-viral conditions, physical condition during viral outbreak
Months twenty-four onwards: sick "recover" as virus goes dormant. Sick remain infected for life and can relapse if body faces high stress levels/serious health conditions. Relapse follows same timetable
Prevention
Avoid contact with infected.
Even with no symptoms showing, avoid getting blood/saliva in orafices, open wounds, or food/water sources (immediately before consuming) af any person who has/may have come into contact with infected or the bomb
