Monika Claire is Remnant and former Pure Blood. Her Strain was changed after a series of experiments done by Death Inc. She is the current leader of The Nexus, succeeding her father Maxwell after his death.

Due to Monika's mutation she has giant spider legs that stem from her back. She can use them to navigate/climb easily and attack things.

Personal history
From a young age Monika was trained to take on the forces of the undead, equipped with cutting edge technology provided by her father and his laboratory. She was quickly enlisted into the Nexus when it was instituted. She fought valiantly and climbed the ranks until the 13 Evils made their presence known. Their fight against Rikku was grueling and brutal and ultimately ended in her father's death. Most of the Nexus was captured and experimented on by Death Inc. A majority of them escaped and regrouped in New Hayven with Monika now in charge.
