Clifftown

Overview

Clifftown is a small community in the Dwarven Catacombs east of the Grand Cavern, and it overlooks Northville.

Geography

Much of Clifftown is carved into the mountain, and it has several picturesque terraces hewn into the cliff that overlook the Enclave from the north. It is not far from Undertown, to which it is connected via tunnels. A steep stair leads down toward Northville; carts on parallel sets of steep rails connected at the top by a rope that goes around a large pulley wheel allow efficient movement of heavy goods (and sometimes people) between the two communities.

Society

There is a large public terrace with many chairs, tables, and food stands that is always full at mealtimes, as people enjoy their meals while taking in the view of the Enclave below. Although its population is mostly Dwarves, there are large clusters of all other races living there too. A few wealthier residents of the Enclave keep a residence in Clifftown, since they enjoy the view of the Enclave to the south.
