Chrechekeepers and Teachers
Because most Enclave citizens spend most of their time working, group childcare is the norm. Some families pool their efforts to watch children (groups of 5 or 10 families are common, with one family watching all children for one/two days of a tenday). There are also creches where babies and young children are cared for by professionals while the parents work. Many creches are segregated by race because the races develop differently in early childhood.
There are schools in most of the towns throughout the Enclave. All of them serve all races, though the belowground schools tend to have more dwarves & gnomes than the aboveground schools. Formal schooling starts at roughly age 5 for humans and a similar developmental age for other races. Parents are expected to enroll their child when they feel he/she is ready. Most children get a thorough basic education, but a sizable minority (particularly among Farmers) are pulled out of school early to help with work.
Teachers are also often Clerics.
