The Artisan's Guild

The Artisan's Guild is an organization originating in Torvahl, but has recently begun branching out into the country of Daemorant to the south and, with limited success, Kalava'khir to the east.
While technically independent from the government of Torvahl, functionally the Guild is heavily integrated into the country's political systems, as The Artisan's Guild handles many affairs of commerce, and manages much of the trade that passes through the country. The guild is so influential in fact that arguably the most lucrative trade city in the country, the city of Midbridge, is run by The Artisan's Guild. Their main Guild Hall can be found in Midbridge, though there are branches in both Torvahlis and Dorak'heim that rival it in size.
The Artisan's Guild is run by a group of the most wealthy merchants in Torvahl, a group called The Collection.
Every major city in Torvahl contains a Guild Hall owned by The Artisan's Guild, where individuals or groups can view esteemed craftsmen showcase their skills and, in some cases, buy works directly from said craftsmen. In addition, these Guild Halls function as both recruitment centers for those wishing to affiliate themselves with the guild, and lodging for those who already have. While it's certainly not impossible to sell your works without membership to The Artisan's Guild, guild membership offers a number of benefits, including a support network and certification that the common people often look for as a sign of quality. As such, many merchants across Torvahl freely choose to associate themselves with the Guild in exchange for a recurring fee.
