Maleth'aryn, the Demigod of Innovation

Maleth'aryn is the Demigod of Innovation, and as such is prayed to by nearly every race on the Emergent Plane. Innovation is useful to nearly everyone, and while he is primarily the patron deity of craftsmen and inventors, it is not uncommon for artists, politicians, merchants, arcane practitioners, and even tacticians to request his boon, for ingenuity is useful in all manner of lifestyles and endeavors. The cunning strategist values innovation every bit as much as the entrepreneur or the tinkerer, and it is for this reason nearly every race views the demigod with at least some degree of reverence.   Maleth'aryn does not bless his followers with the spark of ingenuity lightly however, and so many of those that seek his aid in their endeavors try to gain his favor through displaying their aptitude for thinking outside the box before beseeching him. It is for this reason that some doubt whether he actively supports the inventive at all, for who is to say whether an individual's innovation is the result of Maleth'aryn's blessing, or simply the result of one's own intellect?   Perhaps this is exactly what he hopes for, that people will discover new routes to success on their own, rather than through receiving his assistance.   Nevertheless, this does not stop many from requesting his aid when pursuing their aspirations, as the ability to think in previously unconsidered ways is a useful tool indeed. Among the demigods, he is perhaps the most reclusive, as accounts of firsthand interaction with Maleth'aryn are few and far between, and even then they are often discounted as being fiction. It seems that he prefers privacy and does not like to meddle in the affairs of the Emergent Plane, choosing instead to watch events unfold from afar and observe how mortals solve the problems they encounter.   Regardless, whenever one encounters a problem they feel they cannot solve, a block in their thinking they cannot get through, or simply wish to view something from a new angle, it might behoove them to request the aid of Maleth'aryn. Who knows, maybe he'll grant them the inspiration they need?
