Halflings

Halflings are a race of small people with often jovial and carefree attitudes. They generally look similar to humans in appearance, with their most noteworthy distinguishing trait from humans being their height, for which they get their name.    Created by Thaemenar to simply enjoy the world for its natural beauty, Halflings are seldom found outside of their somewhat-isolated communities, but an adventuring Halfling is often a welcome addition to most groups, as they tendency to be both light-footed and lighthearted makes them not only useful, but pleasant company. They're born with an innate level of appreciation for the things around them, and are often better at appreciating the more nuanced or overlooked aspects of life, which makes them overall an optimistic and upbeat race of people.   Most Halflings spend their lives among their own kind, living in somewhat out-of-the-way areas where they can admire the rolling hills of the countryside, tend to their gardens and farms, and do little more than pass their days admiring the world around them and sharing a relaxing afternoon with good friends.    Some Halflings however wish for more than to spend their lives in the same place, doing the same thing day after day, and are seized by a wanderlust, a desire for adventure. These Halflings often value exploration and seeing new places, but also have a tendency to adopt a slightly darker shade than those that stay at home, for they bear witness to many more things than the usual Halfling who does little more than tend to a garden. Nevertheless, even in the darkest dungeon, you can count on most Halflings to provide a glimmer of hope and cheeriness, as it takes a lot to dampen their spirits.
