Self Ignition

Self Ignition is one of the several elemental abilities that Sapient Animals can possess. This ability to exclusive to Fire Elementals, and famously used by the Phoenix. It is used with flammable chemicals being ignited over fire-proof feathers.

Effect

The User ignites their own feathers/fur/scales, lighting them up in flames while the skin below is safely covered in fire-proof chemicals. The User then charges at/slashes at/otherwise attacks the target. This hurts the target, causing them damage.

Side/Secondary Effects

It is highly likely to burn the target, it may also burn the user if their fire-proof coating does not completely coat the user's body or is unusually thin.

Manifestation

It manifests itself in the form of flames that coat most of or part of, the user's body. During this attack, the user may feel rather hot. no shit sherlock

The flammable chemicals that are produced from some Fire Elemental's Feathers/Fur/Scales.

Material Components

A top Layer of Fur/Feathers/Scales that produce flammable chemicals to be ignited along with a buttom layer of Fire-Proof Fur/Fathers/Scales to protect the user.

Gestures & Ritual

Depends, but most often involves rubbing/striking (like a match) a part of your body in order to ignite yourself.
