The Gilded Lily
Actors and minstrels had the reputation of being rogues and vagabonds! A license, obtained from the Treasurer of the Entertainer’s Guild Hall, was required by anyone who wanted to travel around Erast and pursue a living as a bard. This ensured the public that the troupes who had such license where at least somewhat reputable. The Troupe of the Gilded Lily is one such Chartered group of minstrels and actors. Based in Ironhaven, the Gilded Lily is known for being one of the best, most seen, and highly lauded troupes in all of Erast, having even been invited to the hidden elven kingdom of Thornesh to perform for the people of the city.
Structure
The Gilded Lily is led by the Orator, a title won by the greatest performer in Erast, as determined by all the troupe once every ten years.
Beneath the Orator are the Masters, Journeymen, and Apprentices. These three ranks make up the formal, recognized members. These ranks are allowed to vote in the election of a new Orator. Masters count as one vote, Journeymen as one half vote, and apprentices as one third vote.
Below these ranks are the aspirants, people hoping to become Apprentices. They vie for position while studying their respective styles and hope to be chosen by a Journeyman or Master as their apprentice.
