Balefire

Balefire is a volatile, flammable liquid which can burn for a long time once set on fire. It is created by the Alchemists' Guild, who refer to it as "the substance" and keep its recipe a close-guarded secret, or so they think. Balefire has a blue-white flame when it burns. Balefire is rumored to be created from dragon blood.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

When this oil is exposed to air, it immediately bursts into flame, causing 2d6 points of damage in the first round and 1d6 points in the second.

Rarity

While the Alchemist's Guild of Old Town believe they control the recipe to balefire, many others have created similar, if not the exact same recipe, over the centuries.
At least three separate gnomish wizards in the old Kingdom of Erast created balefire. One is on record having concocted the formula almost 400 years ago.
