Imperial Legion

"Upon my honour I do swear undying loyalty to the Empress, Septima Mede and unwavering obedience to the officers of her great Empire. May those above judge me, and those below take me, if I fail in my duty. Long live the Empress! Long live the Empire!" -Imperial Legion Oath   Once upon a time there was no greater military in the world than the Imperial Legion. The conquering army of the Heartland defeated all and created a mighty Empire the size of the continent and beyond. The Empire reached its apex under Emperor Tiber Septim who unified all nations under the Imperial banner and it was through the might of his legion that this was accomplished.   The current army is not the force it once was however, with many nations ceding from the Empire and Cyrodiil still reeling from the Great War. Despite this there is hope for a bright future; Empress Messalina Mede has inspired hope since her coronation, appearing to be a far cry from her cautious and dithering father. In a single year under the young Empress' rule the Legion strengthened; the Skyrim civil war is over and the generals of the Empire are being encouraged to use creative and unconventional methods which have birthed new combat stratagems, units and fierce implementation of magic.   Joining the Legion for many is a career and as such they look to progress through its ranks.
