Welcome to the Elder Nexus

From the deep and forbidden forests of The Elder Nexus, where beasts of legends wait and prey, to the hulking and impenetrable mountain ranges where lost legacies and civilizations lie, the landscape of The Elder Nexus is a formidable place, and not for the faint of heart. However, the true monsters of these lands can be found within the degenerating ancient cities where humanity hides behind impenetrable walls.

Darkness and Uncertainty

Large Swaths of The Elder Nexus are covered in mystery and history. In the furthest north of the land, the scorched lands, known as Tangrat, is shrouded in an enigma and unchartered land. It is no surprise either, that the Twin Kingdoms of Lordran have nearly been lost to the ages, destroyed or adrift due to the catastrophe that shaped the world, the Millennium War, a conflict which annihilated the land, wiping Empires and Kingdoms off the map and where gods fought for their rightful place.

Punishing storms are frequent across the land, foreshadowed by howling winds and then drenching rain. Where the sun struggles to dry the ground, mud is a constant fact of life. The crops that grow are strange and bitter. For most people, there is no safety outside the radius of a torch’s glow.

Danger Lurks

Civilization dot through the land as islands of light surrounded by the unforgiving terrain of shadowy forests, rough mountain ranges, and sinking bogs. Travellers are often met with suspicious gazes by locals who have never left the isolation of their home village. Relentless threats assault humanity. Vicious creatures hunt wandering children and armed travellers alike, many of whom are never heard from again. Sinister forces seek to twist mankind’s nature to their whims, leaving them forever changed.
Travel is a perilous endeavour, especially at night. Armoured columns of merchant caravans transport goods, nervously guarded by mercenaries who refuse to deviate from known roadways. Travellers caught in the dark are forced to lodge at the remote roadside inns for extortionate prices. Local guards are quick to leave them in the dark if they do not have the coin to pay.
“Only a few warriors remain. Defenders of humanity against the horrors of the dark. Their numbers dwindle with every new moon. You see, this world belongs to the darkness, and darkness will not give it up easily.”
