Session 4: Returning Guests Report
General Summary
The session began with the party interrogating the minstrel they captured from the hideout in the well. Apparently he was payed to "cause chaos" by an individual known only as the "Scaled King".
As the party returns to Helmgart, the encounter a predicament outside the city. Apparently a beast known in legend as the "Vargheist" attack the city gates, slaughtering dozens of guards and commoners without being touched. The road towards the western gate was barred from access due to the gory scene at hand.
Returning into the city, the party met with Lenna and Blaine, the latter being worse for ware. Apparently Lenna had been doing research when they had been gone and found out about the Scaled King in some files from earlier in the year at the "Helmgart Hall of Records". When attempting to look further into this "Scaled King, it appeared that some of the files had disappeared, and believing that this was no coincidence, she asked the party to investigate and retrieve the files to be able to continue the investigation into the Draconians.
Investigating in the Library lead to the discovery of a broken window and claw marks on a bookshelf leading into a the backstreet behind the mighty library. Footmarks in the mud lead to an abandoned warehouse where they found to be ambushed by the Draconians, seemingly knowing that they were coming. After a scuffle, they were again ambushed by a grotesque version of the normal Draconians, black and hunched over with horns pointing forwards. This foe uses it dagger laced with poison to attempt to kill the party, before then attempting to flee before being taken down by Zeal with a bullet through the eye.
