Session 15: What lies beneath
General Summary
The session began with the party heading to Lenna's house, where they met Geraldt, a peculiar person, but perhaps an ally. They were given a rusty key by Lenna, so they could access the catacombs. After a long investigation around the catacombs, following the map they found at the forlorn peaks, they eventually reached their intended destination where they found a magical skull that lead to a secret passage where a rickety lift was found. After spending 20 minutes slowly going down the lift, they reached the bottom where they found a passage that lead to a titanic cavern, where hundreds of Draconians were discovered, alongside humanoid automatons wearing hefty looking armour with red cloth in certain parts. The thing that caught their eyes though, was a huge contraption which was under construction and large deposits of a sickly green crystals which were being mined by slaves from the surface.
The party soon made their way back to the surface, where they warned the Commander/Lord-Lieutenant of what lurked beneath the city. He was shocked to learn of this, and told the party he needed time to think as this was something they need to be careful with. They also spoke with Lenna again, telling her the same thing. She decided she could not leave now, and must also think of what to do.
They soon found themselves at Lord O'keefe's estate, where he discussed a new job for them: bandits had been mining illegally on his land and he wanted them removed my any means possible. They swiftly reached the location of the job, where they ambushed these "Bandits" and dealt with all of them but one, who surrendered. He revealed they were part of the Ironblood Mercenaries from a city in Demacratia, named Kingsgate. After this revelation, they brought the man with them and gave him to Lord O'keefe, confronting the Lord about this situation. He invited them inside of his office, where he discussed that after this event, their business relationship should end, and then revealed himself to be The Scaled King, intending on "Erasing them".
