Outland Giants
Outland giants are usually considered as the weakest of giants, due to their lack of technological and societal progress. Their societies are usually quite unstructured, and their few cities have low and spread out populations. While some of this can be attributed to the fact that they would need a massive area to live in compared to most other races, the other giants have been able to overcome this and create moderately-populated, though massively spread out, cities. Outland giants prefer a rougher, more individualistic life, however, usually living in small tribes of a few individuals. These tribes are organized into larger tribes, which form a nation lead by a chieftain. This chieftain is usually, though not always, chosen based on their strength. There are plenty of outland chieftains which are chosen for wisdom, established as a dynasty, or (rarely) who use magic to force their leadership. Outland giants range from 12 to 20 feet tall, and it is almost always one of the tallest giants who take control of a tribe. Due to women being shorter than the men, it's rare for a female giant to lead a tribes, but it does happen occasionally. Outland giants, regardless of their gender, are extremely strong and can overpower all but the other giants. No race can match their strength, and only a fool would challenge one in this aspect.
Outland giant tribes are usually comprised of a few family groups, and might cross paths with other groups every few days to trade and exchange news. However, they typically stay within one region, so as to avoid conflict. Tribes on the border of an enemy chiefdom might be more adventurous, however, staging cross-border raids for loot and favor. However, larger raiding parties are usually organized in the capital, which is typically in the center of the nation, where the chief's tribe itself claims the most fertile lands. Some outland giants have taken to using slaves to run farms in fertile areas which can provide a valuable boost to their diet. One part of outland giant folklore that is decidedly untrue is the accusation that they enjoy eating human flesh and bones. In fact, outland giants are deeply repulsed by cannibalism and treat the dead with respect, which is one of the more noble parts of their culture.
Outland giants are usually but not always rather spiritual, and as in tune with nature as a 16-foot behemoth can be. Their folklore often consists of stories of mischievous spirits, greedy thieves, and would-be conquerors. In areas where they are present, trolls are often used as a boogeyman tale for children, who are still young enough to be killed and eaten by the more savage of trolls.
