Lunar Elves

The Lunar or Moon Elves are affected by the Lunar cycles due to their worship of a Lunar Spirit and their tampering with celestial powers. These elves are exceptional magic users, even amongst their kin, they specialize in light & dark magic but also excel in runic, gravity, and water based magic. They have pale skin, silver or white hair, and their eye colors can closely resemble the color of Amethysts, Aquamarine, or Sapphires, but some end up with a steely-grey color. Though if a Lunar Elf is born during a blood moon(s) their eyes will be a blood crimson, those that are born with such eyes are considered by most to be cursed. These elves live in secluded city-states typical atop a high mountain or in a low valley, but there are some that live near the coastal cliffs and in deep forests. These elves are exceptional scholars, so much so they created a way to write things using the light from the Sun and Moon(s) so that the writing would only show at a certain time of day or until a certain lunar cycle (yes it is a rip off LOTR, but it’s cool so I’m keeping it). Lunar Elf cities are a wonder to behold, the regular homes are made from smooth stone and typically with oak or maple wood to make up the frame. The more important buildings such as the government buildings or noble houses are made up of beautiful white marble with silver décor and with silk banners dawning the crest of the owners noble house or the national crest. The Lunar Elves also have most complete celestial map in the realm, though many believe it’s the Gnome had mapped the stars but the Gnomes simply made copies of the Lunar Elves’ maps. The observatories that can also double as a planetarium are found in almost every Lunar Elf city are typical made from adamantine with oak or maple that make up the general decorative designs of the structure, inside is the telescope that is made from a adamantine-like alloy that is only known to the Moon Elves along with the magical crystals that are hoarded by the Lunar Elves, which helps them see further distances that normal telescopes and also allows them to see the cosmic flow of magic. These crystals also double as conduits for the cosmic magic that surrounds the world. Moon Elves can live for several centuries, most live to 750 but some have been recorded to live to 1000.
