Perception and Sensory Capabilities

While the Kymrai don't differ to far from typical humans physically, magically is a whole other story. The Kymrai don't only get their nickname because of their skin, when night time comes the Kymrai gain an ability that allows them to use moonlight to use an ability known as "blink" which allows them to move extremely fast and phase into the moonlight , though they can only go about 10 meters away from where they were standing when they activate this ability. They also use the moonlight to activate a defensive ability known as "moon glow" which covers the user in ethereal light and creates a extremely tough barrier. Another ability they have is to use moonlight as an offensive magical attack know as "moon beam" which is a ray of light that inflicts a high amount of damage on their target. The light they use is absorbed into the Kymrai through their eyes and the tattoo like markings and is then transferred throughout the body which allows them to use their ability. The down side to these abilities is that if they are used to much within a certain time frame, cracks will appear on their bodies and eventually the user with fade away into dust. During the day the they can use an ability similar to "blink" known as "slip" which allows them to slip into shadows cast by objects and move through them, if one perfects this ability they are able to slip into the shadow of a moving object or a person's shadow giving them an edge in combat and infiltration. The Kymrai also hold a great affinity for time based magic, able to use it to see into past and future events. There are some cases where a Kymrai would be able to turn back time to recover a lost limb or heal a grievous wound, though this level of ability was and still is very rare.

Civilization and Culture

History

In days before the calamity the Kymrai were more tribal like mostly hunting the large fauna that roamed the land, though there were some that built large temples to worship their gods. There was only one known city that the Kymrai built know as the city of Syr which acted as the main trade hub between all Kymrai tribes and the outside world. Many wondered how the Kymrai survived the Great Calamity as they most certainly would have been one of the first to perish, but according to the Kymrai elders there was a prophecy, that foretold the Great Calamity and how they could survive. Their people were to use the ability known as blink and use the influence of time magic which would allow them to slip between space and time itself, virtually popping in and out of existence. The elders say that they have not been able recreate this reaction again, even doing it the exact same way as the prophecy instructed, but it would not work, one scholar said that the reason they may not be able to do the spell again is because of the possible increase of magic caused by the Great Calamity, that raised the level of magic and magical density to the levels they were during the creation of the world. Since then, Kymrai have slowly evolved their civilization into a more modern one using the the knowledge they had about the old world that was lost due to the calamity. Though unlike before where they secluded themselves to small areas, they now interact with what people are left on Yyradayn, expanding their influence and culture. The Kymrai now have decent size nations both in the northwestern and northeastern parts of the continent, though they are nothing compared to the Dark Elven Nations of old, but there are still enclaves that follow the old ways and travel as nomads
