Kobolds

"Kobolds? Sure, I'll employ 'em, they are good at cleaning the forges. Males only though- don't want 'em establishing a nest around here." - Dwarven Smith

As the shortest of all races on average, Kobolds are easily ignored by many at first glance. Though not having as much of a growth rate as Goblins, their population tends to rise quickly when established in an area- partially due to their ability to live on less food and partially due to their ability to live in small spaces. This tendency often leads to Kobold families growing disproportionately large in places like cellars, before inevitably being found and driven off by the landowner in question. Despite their love of tight quarters, Kobolds are completely obsessed with learning to fly, something they claim is a remnant of their descendants from dragons (which is decidedly wrong). More than one Kobold has robbed an Anemoi grave only to die jumping off a mountain. They are split into three sub-races Frostborn Kobolds, Rockborn Kobolds, and Forestborn Kobolds
Although the three types of Kobold do have certain distinctions, overall they share very similar features. Kobolds have front-facing snouts with eyes on the sides of their head. They have small blindsot due to this, which leads to Kobolds often holding their heads in strange angles when talking to somebody. Kobolds have small horns, sharp teeth, and very small ear and nose holes in their face, similar to mini dragons. Kobolds are scaly, but the skin on their stomach is lighter and of a different type than their main body color. Kobolds have dextrous hands, able to hold weapons normally, but do have claws they can use as a natural weapon alongside their bite.
