Jugarögch Khanate

The Jugarögch Khanate is a powerful cenatur horde situated in the Plaires Centralis l'Ouesse. As a Telgrener centaur nation, the khanate is composed of the Clesentian ethnic group, with most of its population being either Zalmachegch, which also makes up the elites, or Arcesegh. The Jugarögch Khanate is a relatively new power, though the Jugarögch tribe has existed for some time as a distinct entity. The rise of the Jugarögch has led to great conflict with the neighboring Bardlamegch Khanate, and these bloody wars have served as a check on both nations' powers.

History

The history of the Jugarögch Khanate begins with the fall of the Second Centaur Khanate, which arose in 1775 and united all Zalmachegch and Arcesegh centaurs under one banner, crushing the Enctör human tribes and threatening Fremedhia and Blazennia. However, the state was routed by the famous Emperor Eberhald of Blazennia in 1791 and collapsed into various tribes. However, the core of the khanate remained, and still counted a few tribes as subjects, using force to keep them in line. The Jugarögch were formed from a collection of several of these smaller tribes, whose rebellion led to the annihalation of the Second Khanate's remaining forces. Due to their lack of coordination, these tribes were largely forced to the fringes of the former khanate. Upon their alliance in 1803, they declared the unification of the tribes into one- the Jugarögch.
Situated in the open steppe between the [tbd] and [tbd] rivers, the Jugarögch were a minor player in the region's politics, coming under the sway of several other aspiring khans during the 19th and 20th century. Rowdy and hard to subdue, the Jugarögch found their place as warriors, become quite valuable subjects, but never holding dominion of their own. However, in 1972, the head of the Jugarögch clan would make his move. Disputes had been raging over the proper pay of the Jugarögch warriors for some time, as the Jugarögch claimed they should recieve better looting rights than the other troops owing to their superior prowess, which the ruling Altörmsög khan refused. Finally, hoping to make a show of strength and prevent these powerful warriors from turning away, he rode into their lands to force them into submission. However, he was met in battle by the Jugarögch, who defeated his warriors and killed him in a pitched battle. This led to the dissolution of the Altörmsög, whose subjects all formed their own states. The Altörmsög elites were forced to flee into these dry, desert-like southern steppe (known as Khöm), where they would later unite the tribes of the region and form Khöm Altörmsög.
Jugarögch would use the chaos of this time to sweep over the old lands of Altörmsög, pillaging their core regions and enforcing dominance over other former subjects (such as the Ventoritonem tribe). Others, like Mersiacuutor (who would later form their own small khanate), were able to fight off the overstretched Jugarögch and prevent their conquests. As the dust settled on the corpse of Altörmsög, Jugarögch's leader declared himself the new khan, and immediately set out to expand his lands. The warlike Jugarögch tribe felt that the previous centaur khanates had been too soft and weak, and that only their warrior elite could lead the centaurs to greatness. Jugarögch has also eschewed the methods of the Khanate of Clesentia, as their belief is that developing cities makes for weak centaurs. In the years since, the Jugarögch have crushed and subjugated several tribes, such as the Strisugiin and Zainislagch, while directly ruling over others. Following the seizure of the upper [tbd] river in 1985, the court was moved to the more fertile lands along the river, which has allowed the war camps of the Jugarögch to swell in number as they exploit the nearby Arcesegh, who have become the main farming grunts.
