Grand Principality of Kyrivyna

The Grand Principality of Kyrivyna was formed from the former principality of the same name following the collapse of the Relvetsian Empire. Kyrivyna's population, mostly made up of Sinizadetsians, were some of the most heavily targeted by the Veltsian-dominated Relvetsian effort to enforce a unitary culture among its citizens. The Metropolitan in Volodominy, representing the spiritual side of this effort, played a major role in the unitary cultural efforts, suppressing local traditions. This ironically brought the religious policy of the Relvetsian nation closer to a New Oskutalukhóthic view despite continuing to practice the Old Oskutalukhóth faith.
However, despite this oppression and opposition to local traditions, the Cucoyija Achiya, a secret society of sorts, sprung up in Kyrivyna, especially in the east, where the reach of the crown was weak. Dedicated to keeping the traditions and local spirits of Kyrivyna and of the broader Sinizadetsian identity alive, they formed an intellectual opposition to the Relvetsians. When the Relvetsian Empire fell, they seized their chance, and the Princedom. After a four year war, they finally toppled the ruling Prince of Kyrivyna (who was loyal to the Grand Principality of Voncherynol) after they captured the capital in 1985. Elevating a man of pre-Relvetsian noble birth as the new Grand Prince (despite his lack of knowledge of the plot or even interest), the Cucoyija Achiya took total control of the nation and have begun to lead an anti-centralization push. They toppled the ruling Metropolitan in Volodominy, replacing him with a new man, loyal to the traditions of their people instead of being appointed from the capital.
The Cucoyija Achiya, acting "on behalf of the king", then launched a ten-year repression/education campaign based on revitalizing local religious practices and rooting out those brought from a central authority. This had the added benefit of strengthening their rule and preventing their internal enemies from taking power. After all, they are radicals, and even today are not necessarily popular with the peasantry for their draconian rule. Following this 10 year period of internal struggle, they have professed a more outwards-looking policy, but have been stymied in their efforts to seize control of the Principality of Vailadonhia by the dense forests of the region and lack of a proper army. They have been forced to disband campaigns numerous campaigns due to a lack of supplies, which has allowed Vailadonhia to cling to survival.
Ultimately, the goals of the Cucoyija Achiya are to reestablish the traidtional cultural and religious spheres of the four Relvetsian peoples in a federation of equals, to prove once and for all that the Sinizadetsians are not just "primitive and uneducated Relvetsians", and if possible to spread the Old Oskutalukhóth religion to other peoples. Lower priority goals such as stopping the goblin raids into their southern lands, which originally garnered them their following, have largely been dropped in favor of the grandiose.
Note: The name Kyrivyna stems from a pre-Imperial tribe which ruled the region during the proto-Sinizadetsian culture. As a powerful tribe, the region was referred to by their name by the Veltsian, and when they conquered the area many years later the principality was named after the region.
