The Krisings, when one examines them removed from their role in the collapse of the Republic, are pitiable people. With only the harsh steppelands of the Krisir Plateu to claim as their own, the orcs who originally settled in this region were forced into a nomadic lifestyle from the start. While accounts of their history are extremely sparse at best, the commonly held belief is that the Krisings survived only because of relationships with the powers of the Eastern Continent. Their reputation as barbaric raiders in Soln prevented any widespread trade with the west, forming a more or less permenant barrier to their expansion. The orcs have survived through violence, raiding and warring with either themselves over the sparse resources of Krisir or with their neighbors to make up the difference. The trade they maintained with Soln was scant, usually only through individuals that didn't care about where their business partners sourced their goods from.
It was baffling, then, to see a nation of nomadic pillagers develop into an actual industrialized country. The catalyst for this change is unknown, but speculation holds that agents from the Eastern Continent pushed them towards the development of a cohesive government. This put them on a more even playing field with Soln, as as its own industrial revolution was sweeping through the nations of the west, so to did the Krising State develop their own mecahnical advancements. By the time of the Krising War they could match much of the technology fielded by Soln and make up for the difference in manpower, something that was abundent in Krisir. In the wake of the destruction of the Republic, nobody is too sure of what happened to the Krising State afterwards. Contact with Combined Army spies was lost shortly before the line broke, but one report that managed to make it out stated the nation had fallen into a madness of blood and death.
