Galennica is a country on the decline, though through no fault of its own. During the Krising War, it served as an important recruitment pool for the combined armies on the front line, as well as a safe place to treat wounded soldiers without returning them further west. After Lohenz, however, Galennica was struck almost as hard as the Republic by the orc raiders. They managed to maintain some level of order, however slight it may have been, largely because they were not beset by the same level of bureaucratic corruption that infested the Republic's political heirarchy. This allowed them to weather the tides of Krising raiders, however after that came the true test of the nation's fortitude. The events at Lohenz are not widely discussed amongst most of Soln because of how few survived, while those who did are shunned for their association with the damned city, but the radiating evil from the battle site has seen strange horrors stalking across the border from Lesallne into Galennica. The Galennican army, what little of it remained to gather following the breakup of the front, has its hands busy with combatting the dread beasts that prey on the countryside.   Because of these stalking creatures, most life in the eastern counties of Galennica hs moved into the protection of city walls, or at least as close to them as one can get. Many cities now sport entire suburbs of semi-permenant housing, these ramshackle dwellings patrolled by local militia due to shortages on police and military personnel. The mines and farms of the country are still under the direct protection of the army, though, to ensure the safety of both workers and product. Many veterans of the Krising War, especially those who survived Lohenz and are still functional afterwards, who haven't thrown their lot in with a mercenary companies have gone to sign up for the Galennican army, their firshand knowledge of the beasts a useful took in keeping them at bay.
